Almost Ready to Shout!

This more than likely will be my last.....lost voice blog for awhile.  Even though I have looked at this little inconvenience as a humorous thing.  I do step back now and think about folks who have disabilities that do not get better over a short period of time.  I have regained a new respect for others.  Funny how one event leads to another. I am almost ready to shout it from the mountain tops.

Questions????

Day two of no voice......I did find it necessary to make a stop at the grocery store yesterday.  All was going just fine except for a short stop for a cough drop (found it in the bottom of my purse).  I have been feeling fine during this whole thing so I can see where people may not realize that I can not communicate with them.  I got to the check out with my necessary food items....and I was ready for the "Did you find everything okay" question....I responded with a smile and a big head nod. Then the next question got me!  Do you have any coupon?  There was a small one stuck to one item.  I pointed to it and mouthed that I could not talk.  The checkout person found it and then.....Ask how long has it been without your voice?  Have I tried saltwater?  Did you catch a cold first?  Has this ever happened to you before?  Is it quiet at your house?  I gave her a croak noise, smiled and ran out the door.  (After I paid for the items of course!)

Was That A Frog?

It has been years since I have not been able to talk.  Yesterday my voice sounded a little funny, by the end of the day it was gone.  For some of my family and close friends its a break for them.  I was answering the phones at the front desk when another school closing call came in.  The principal suggested in a sharp way that I clear my throat before I attempt to answer the phone.   Really??? Oh the comments I wanted to come back with.......but my voice would only let me croak.  I will be back with you soon......when I can do more than Frog noises.

Drive At Five

Have you noticed?  If you happen to work each day till five and have to drive home....it is getting more and more day light to make that commute.  At this time of year and the very cold weather can give us even the smallest positive thing to cling on too. Here is to working to the longest day light day of the year!
