I Forgot Already
This time of year we hear news reports of event that happened over the past year. Some of the events might have peaked our interest at the time. May be it was an entertainer that got caught lip syncing or a bad storm that killed people or even a leader making a social blunder. Until the year in review comes around to remind us we already forgot!

Last One Standing
How very very sad......On the way to work very early this morning, I noticed a Christmas Tree Lot. There were only a few very sad looking trees left standing. With all the joy of Christmas that surrounds us this time of year I began to think of the positive. I do believe that these loaner trees that were not selected to grace the inside of a home may in fact grace the outside. The leftover trees may be chipped up to mulch. The mulch may be used to beautify landscape in the spring. Merry Christmas you and your family.

Once A Year?
Why do you only purchase Egg Nog once a year? We do have a family tradition of decorating the Christmas Tree while enjoying cookies and egg nog. I really do enjoy the taste of the smooth sweet treat. Now that I think about it .....Egg Nog is not always available year round. That would be a good reason!

So...you may know that I am not the top of the class when it comes to technology. However, with that said I just downloaded photos and designed our Christmas Card. The order should arrive in a week or so. Now this may not sound like a big deal to some techies....But is this house its a Christmas Miracle.

Sun Dog
What does a Sun Dog mean to you? We saw one this afternoon over Lake Onalaska. One coworker said that farmers say this means it will snow. I thought it had something to do with the extra cold weather. Another person said he had no idea. Now after looking up Sun Dog it means beside the sun. It is a colored patch of light in the sky. I think I am going with the Farmers.

Shopping in our home town.
Its time again to do the Christmas shopping. I do enjoy shopping local for a number of reasons. First of all it is for the good of all concerned. Second, I do enjoy the personal touch. It is so nice to be helped by folks that have been helping you for years. This year I sent a number of emails for local shops to ask pre questions about items that I and looking for. Good Luck! Santa says.......Shop Local!

Wow..no snow storm for us.
Our neighbors to the north are locating shovels, ice scrapers, snow pants, hats and mittens. We did dodge a bullet for the most part in the coulee region. (this time). The all important low, is located almost on top of us and that prevented us from getting the snow and just rain this time. If the low is over Chicago then the La Crosse area is more apt to get snow. I will be watching for the low location all winter! How about you?

Monday
Wow...what day is this? A lot of us have been off work for four days now. It may take most of the week to get back in the swing of things. The weekend also gave us maybe the last chance to work outdoors on the Christmas lights with out freezing. The long term forecast looks like old man winter is almost here.
